Our orthopaedic team is seeking a skilled and experienced consultant to provide high-quality patient care in a dynamic and growing region.
The Mackay Base Hospital, a state-of-the-art facility with 236 beds, offers a wide range of specialist services including orthopaedics, mental health, obstetrics, and more.
- As a consultant orthopaedic surgeon, you will be responsible for providing clinical duties within the department, including inpatient care, pre- and post-operation, outpatient care, and community care.
- You will also participate in outreach programs to rural facilities in the Whitsunday area, promote education and training opportunities for junior medical staff, and contribute to the development of a preceptor program for students undergoing clinical immersions.
Requirements
We are looking for a candidate who is registered as a specialist with the Medical Board of Australia, holds a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) or equivalent, and has completed their training in either the UK, Ireland, Canada, USA, or New Zealand.
