Senior Data Governance Lead

Job Description

The role of the Senior Data Governance Lead is to oversee the management and resolution of complex data privacy issues, including breaches and complaints. As a key member of the team, you will provide authoritative advice on data compliance and management, ensuring alignment with relevant legislation.

You will maintain current knowledge of State and Federal data governance legislation, researching and analysing data matters to deliver quality work outcomes. This includes identifying and addressing strategic and systemic data governance issues across the department, providing recommendations for improvement.

As a leader in this role, you will be responsible for mentoring and sharing knowledge with other data governance officers, contributing to a culture that values client focus, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of State and Federal data governance legislation.
  • Experience in data impact assessments, breaches, complaints, and advisory services.
  • Ability to provide clear, practical guidance and training on data governance matters.
  • Experience supervising data governance officers and coordinating an expanding team.
