Job Title: Food and Beverage Supervisor

As a key member of our events team, the Food and Beverage Supervisor plays a vital role in delivering exceptional guest experiences.

This dynamic leader oversees the day-to-day operations of food and beverage outlets, maintaining high service standards and upholding hotel policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities include forecasting rosters, managing payroll costs, and achieving profit targets. The successful candidate will possess strong people management skills, ensuring effective supervision of diverse teams, including recruitment, training, and development.

Other key duties include:

  • Providing excellent guest service and responding promptly to their needs and desires.
  • Coordinating the supervision of food and beverage outlets as rostered.
  • Ensuring efficient inter-departmental interaction and communication within the hotel at all levels.
  • Maintaining clean and organized departments, addressing any maintenance or cleaning issues promptly.
  • Delivering consistent and professional services by providing proper training to food and beverage team members.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work environment, including public areas, store rooms, and offices.
  • Ensuring team members are professionally presented with correct grooming, uniforms, and name badges at all times.
  • Participating in theoretical and on-the-job training planning and conducting.
  • Complying with and ensuring adherence to all hotel policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring areas are stocked to appropriate par levels.
  • Having a thorough knowledge of and practicing established occupational health and safety guidelines (OH&S).
  • Maintaining an effective reservations system for table bookings.
  • Ensuring compliance with cashiering policies and procedures.
  • Protecting and maintaining operating equipment in conjunction with the maintenance manager.
  • Implementing controls to prevent cash or stock losses.
  • Providing assistance to other departments or outlets when required.
  • Attending scheduled meetings.
  • Performing other duties as directed by senior hotel management.
  • Securing the area, especially after hours, and ensuring doors and fridges are secured and items are locked away prior to closing.
  • Auditing daily revenue charges and covers.
  • Reporting accurate information about all issues.
  • Requisitioning weekly stock to maintain par levels and assisting with monthly stock counting.
  • Establishing open communication channels with other F&B personnel to promote teamwork within the department.
