Join us as a Trades Assistant in General Maintenance to play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our facilities. Your expertise will be instrumental in maintaining our hospital infrastructure, including plant and equipment, building fabric, and associated systems.

You will work collaboratively with our team to identify and address maintenance needs, prioritize tasks, and implement effective solutions. With a strong focus on customer service, you will ensure that all interactions with patients, staff, and visitors are professional and courteous.

In this full-time role, you will have the opportunity to utilize your skills and knowledge to make a tangible impact on our organization. You will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining plant and equipment, building and fixtures, and loose assets in a hospital environment
  • Ensuring hospital maintenance is completed to a satisfactory standard and in a timely manner
  • Carrying out emergency procedures in line with policy
  • Inspecting building services, plant and equipment, and building/fixtures
  • Raising work requests as required
  • Closing works orders as required
  • Preparing scopes of work and sourcing quotations for required tasks
  • Providing first-line response to urgent requests and breakdowns
  • Being responsible for completing permits for risk work as may be required
  • Liaising with Facilities Administrators to procure sufficient spares/materials and ensuring enough spares/materials are kept in stock to minimize any equipment downtime
  • Carrying out audits on plant and equipment as instructed

Requirements:

  • Qualified trades assistant or equivalent experience in a Facilities Maintenance role
  • At least 5 years' working experience in a Facilities Maintenance environment
  • Ability to prioritize and utilize available resources to achieve service delivery
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Knowledge of Technology One Maintenance System is desirable
  • Commitment to providing a safe environment for patients and staff
