Job Overview

Pricing professionals with a strong technical background are sought after to lead the development of pricing strategies for Transmission Lines and Substation projects. Reporting directly to the Bid Manager, you will engage with various business disciplines to deliver innovative, cost-effective, and compliant pricing solutions.

Key responsibilities include overseeing project requisites and specifications to devise comprehensive cost estimates, conducting thorough analysis of project schematics and specifications, and evaluating vendor quotations to ensure competitive pricing and quality.

Effective communication and leadership skills are essential in developing and mentoring high-performing teams and communicating priorities effectively.

  • Transmission Line and/or Substation Estimation specialist
  • Budgeting of renewable energy EPC projects
  • Thoroughly analyze project requisites and specifications to devise cost estimates encompassing materials, labor, and equipment.
  • Compile comprehensive project estimates by factoring in labor and material expenses, subcontractor quotations, and overhead costs
  • Conduct quantity take-offs and cost computations based on project schematics and specifications.
  • Evaluate and facilitate negotiations with vendors and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing and quality.
  • Monitor project expenditures and update estimates throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare and deliver estimates to clients, addressing queries or concerns.
  • Track actual project costs against estimates and identify discrepancies.
About You
  • Tertiary qualifications in engineering or an equivalent field
  • 5+ years' experience as an Estimating Manager across the Transmission Line and Substation sector in Australia
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of Australian Environmental legislation
  • Familiarity with relevant Australian Standards
  • Proven ability in planning, multi-tasking, and delivering quality outcomes to deadline within a high-pressure environment
