About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Peer Worker to join our dynamic mental health team.

As a Senior Peer Worker, you will play a pivotal role in supporting consumers in an acute inpatient setting, connecting with them using your lived experience to support recovery and community connections, and reducing re-admission risk.

You will work within a supportive multidisciplinary setting and alongside the growing lived experience team in Mental Health, Drugs and Alcohol Services (MHDAS).

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide peer support to consumers in an acute inpatient setting.
  • Support consumers in developing their recovery plans and connecting them with local community resources.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care and support for consumers.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A strong understanding of lived experience and its application in mental health settings.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong problem-solving and crisis management skills.
