Job Overview:

  • Piping design specialists will work closely with clients to interpret plant PFDs, P&IDs and plant battery limits and constraints.
  • They will assist in preparing project-specific layout design criteria and coordinate with client representatives on all matters related to the layout of the plant.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for developing facility layouts within the plant that allow each functional group to begin their design effectively.
  • Throughout the project phases, from study through to detailed design and deliverable production, piping designers will perform a range of activities including reviewing, coordinating and obtaining approval for all layout changes.

Key Qualifications:

  • Applicants should bring significant experience working on major multi-discipline projects, with a good understanding of maintainability, constructability, safety and operating issues related to equipment.
  • They should have a solid grasp of interdisciplinary dependencies in a project environment and be able to analyze the consequences of layout changes to prioritize best solutions as design progresses.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage individuals to attain quality, cost and schedule objectives are essential.
  • A strong leader and coordinator with well-developed communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills is also highly desirable.
