Job Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Senior Mechanical Designer to support projects in mining, tailings, water, and hydropower.

This role involves designing and updating 3D models of piping, mechanical equipment, and plant layouts using AutoCAD Plant 3D.

The ideal candidate will have advanced proficiency in Autodesk Plant 3D, Navisworks, and AutoCAD, as well as strong knowledge of piping systems, mechanical equipment, and plant layout principles.

A valid driver's licence and willingness to travel are also required for this position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and update 3D models of piping, mechanical equipment, and plant layouts in AutoCAD Plant 3D.
  • Produce 2D general arrangement drawings, 3D isometric assemblies, pipe routing drawings, and fabrication details.
  • Create PFDs, P&IDs, and generate equipment, valve, and piping lists.
  • Collaborate with engineers and designers to integrate mechanical systems across disciplines.
  • Support clash detection and layout coordination using detailed 3D models.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering specs and relevant standards (ASME, AS, ISO).
Required Qualifications
  • Advanced Diploma or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 10+ years' experience in mechanical/piping design within mining, industrial, or process sectors.
  • Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Plant 3D (including P&ID), Navisworks, and AutoCAD.
  • Strong knowledge of piping systems, mechanical equipment, and plant layout principles.
  • Familiarity with Australian and international standards (AS, ASME, ISO).
  • Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel as required.
