Senior Geologist Position Open Pit Mining

Mining operations are seeking a skilled geology professional to lead geological tasks related to mine production, grade control, and resource development.
- This role is ideal for a geology expert who excels in fast-paced open pit mining environments and is ready to provide technical leadership.
- The Open Pit Geologist Leader will supervise a team of geologists and technicians, ensuring accurate geological modeling, effective reconciliation, and optimal drill programs.
- Responsibilities include leading and supervising geological operations and contractor activities to meet production targets.
- The successful candidate will perform QAQC analysis and integrate geological, structural, and analytical data into grade control and resource models.
- Collaboration with the Resource Geology team to prepare, maintain, and refine geological models is also required.
- Stockpile tracking and end-of-month reconciliation processes will be managed by the Open Pit Geologist Leader.
- Short-term forecasting and budgeting for the Geology department are additional responsibilities.
- A strong focus on promoting a culture of safety, environmental responsibility, and continuous improvement is essential.
- Supporting team development through training and mentoring is also expected.
- Acting as delegate for the Superintendent - Mine Geology and other geology roles when required is necessary.
