About the role

We are seeking an experienced Open Pit Mine Geologist to support our growing open pit operations at Mungari. The Mine Geologist plays a key role in the Geology Team, executing the mine plan and identifying business improvement opportunities. Responsibilities include:

  • Performing detailed geological mapping and sampling
  • Assisting with ore spotting and communicating with the mining team to optimize extraction
  • Supervising grade control and resource drilling programs, maintaining QAQC standards
  • Managing relationships with contractors and overseeing daily reconciliation of stockpiles and ore movement
  • Supporting geological drilling activities for safe mine design and scheduling

About you

You are a passionate Geologist with a safety-first mindset, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative approach. You may reside in Kalgoorlie/Boulder or be FIFO from Perth on an 8:6 roster (12-hour days, Thursday to Thursday).

To succeed, you will have:

  • Degree in geology or geosciences
  • 2-3 years' experience in mine geology and grade control, preferably in open pit environments
  • Understanding of grade control processes and safety standards
  • Experience managing drilling contractors (advantageous)
  • Proficiency with modelling software (Datamine, Leapfrog) and database software (acQuire), OrePro3D skills preferred
  • Strong report writing, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines
