About the Role
The Australian Government Department of Defence is seeking a highly skilled and motivated professional to join our team as a Technical Surveillance Countermeasures Officer. This is a critical role that requires a strong background in technical security, proven experience, and a thorough understanding of electronic surveillance methods and countermeasures.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct technical security inspections to identify potential vulnerabilities and ensure Defence locations are protected from listening and recording devices.
- Provide technical security advice and guidance to Defence personnel and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify and mitigate technical threats.
- Lead small teams for domestic and international security operations and be accountable for team logistics and reporting.
About Our Team
The Technical Surveillance Countermeasures team sits within the Defence Security Division in Security and Estate Group. We are a high-tempo team that conducts technical security inspections at Defence locations across Australia and internationally.
What You'll Need
- A strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interpret and convey security policy information and technical security advice to diverse audiences.
- Extensive collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead small teams for domestic and international security operations and be accountable for team logistics and reporting.
Working with Us
As a Technical Surveillance Countermeasures Officer, you will work alongside civilian and military personnel who work together to secure Defence information from adversaries in an ever-evolving threat environment. You will travel routinely and engage with all areas of Defence and Defence Industry partners as well as other government agencies.
