We are seeking an ecological trainee to participate in technical projects related to botanical aspects.
About the RoleThe primary goal of this role is to acquire training in ecological expertise with a focus on botany.
Key Responsibilities:- Conducting botanical surveys and assessments
- Developing skills in business management and project coordination
- Identifying plant community types (PCTs) and vegetation condition
- Preparing vegetation maps and providing written input to reports
- Plant identification and species classification
- AQF level 7 tertiary qualifications including Australian ecology, Australian botany, and GIS
- Current driver's license and ability to commute daily
Desirable Experience and Qualities:
- Physical fitness for fieldwork in high altitude, regional, and remote locations
- Familiarity with high country flora and excellent communication skills
- Ability to travel to other areas of NSW for extended projects
