We are seeking a highly motivated trainee ecologist to join our team. This role involves working on various ecological projects, including flora surveys, vegetation mapping, biodiversity monitoring, and impact assessments.

The ideal candidate will have basic skills in plant identification, plant community identification, and/or vegetation mapping. They will be trained in technical expertise on ecological projects, with a particular focus on the botanical aspects.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to learn from senior experienced scientists and develop their career in ecology.

About this Role:

• Conduct botanical surveys
• Assess vegetation condition
• Prepare vegetation maps (with GIS specialist)
• Plant identification
• Provide written input to ecological reports

Requirements:

• AQF level 7 tertiary qualifications (Bachelor Degree) in Australian ecology, Australian botany, or GIS
• Current driver's license
• Resident within daily commuting distance of our Cooma or Springwood office
