Financial Operations Specialist

As a seasoned Financial Operations Specialist, you will play a key role in the financial management of our organization. Your expertise in fund accounting and taxation will be essential in streamlining and enhancing financial processes across multiple entities.

The ideal candidate will have experience in managing end-to-end monthly and annual fund distribution processes, as well as supporting quarterly Business Activity Statement (BAS) reviews. They will also be responsible for preparing and lodging fund income tax returns, ensuring compliance with relevant tax obligations and deadlines.

We are seeking an individual with a strong understanding of Australian fund taxation, including AMIT/MIT regimes and income attribution concepts. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and other common business tools and applications is also required.

  • Support the end-to-end monthly and annual fund distribution process, including coordination with internal teams and external service providers.
  • Support the quarterly Business Activity Statement (BAS) review for all funds.
  • Manage the preparation and lodgement process for fund income tax returns, ensuring compliance with relevant tax obligations and deadlines.
  • Support the day-to-day operational aspects of the fund audit process.
  • Assist with fund accounting activities and support new fund establishment processes as required.

Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field, CA or CPA qualification, and additional postgraduate qualifications in Taxation (desirable but not required).

This is a mid-senior level position that requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
