We seek Senior Fund Accountants who can build strong rapport with peers and are trusted advisers to our clients.The role will involve responsibility for a number of funds, including:Real estate fundsInfrastructure fundsCredit fundsFund of fundsPrivate equityThe OpportunityUFS is seeking an eager, proactive Senior Fund Accountant to join our business.
This position is suited for someone with strong experience and knowledge of all aspects of fund accounting, including NAV preparation, tax calculations, and financial statement preparation.
By providing fund, tax, and accounting support, you will be a highly valued member of the team, reporting to the Senior Manager of Fund Accounting and managing relationships with key stakeholders to ensure all aspects are delivered accurately and efficiently.Key ResponsibilitiesEnsure all client deliverables are in line with service agreementsAssist managers with daily oversight of a team of fund accountantsLiaise with external auditors and service providersPrepare annual financial statements and periodic management reporting packsManage and support all aspects of transaction capture for an entity, including accruals, trades, interest, distributions, and capitalProduce annual statutory financial reporting, including notes to the accountsAssist managers with onboarding new funds and fund restructures as requiredAdhere to robust procedures and controls to ensure compliance and qualityMaintain accounting records, including entering transactions into Reckon (experience helpful but not essential) or other accounting softwareParticipate in process improvement and projects as requiredKey CompetenciesStrong written and verbal communication skillsAttention to detailAbility to work independently and as part of a teamStrong problem-solving skillsAbility to collaborate effectively with othersExperience3-5 years minimum in fund accounting or a relevant accounting role in the financial services industryRelevant qualifications in accounting and/or finance (CPA/CA qualified or willing to study CPA/CA)Experience in management and statutory reporting, e.g., Investment Management Reports and General-Purpose Financial StatementsKnowledge of financial instruments or other asset types, such as property, loans, or private equityExperience with NAV preparation, tax/distribution calculations, and financial statement preparationAudit experience with the Big 4 is advantageousAdvanced skills in Microsoft Excel and WordHow to Join UsYou may apply using your LinkedIn profile; however, we welcome the inclusion of a CV and/or cover letter.
