About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Christian educator to join our team at NT Christian Schools - Palmerston Christian College. As a Christian educator, you will play a vital role in shaping the minds and hearts of our students, providing a thoroughly Christian education that equips them for a life of service and witness.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Teaching and Learning: Prepare and deliver high-quality teaching programs that integrate biblical perspectives, meeting the diverse needs of students and promoting significant educational outcomes.
  2. Classroom Management: Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment, utilizing effective classroom management and behavioral support skills to ensure student engagement and well-being.
  3. Record Keeping and Reporting: Accurately maintain records of student progress, contributing to the creation of reports and assessments that inform teaching practices and drive student growth.
  4. Collaboration and Teamwork: Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve shared goals, participating in professional development opportunities to enhance pedagogy and stay current with best practices.
  5. Technology and Data Management: Utilize technology, including computers, online platforms, and data management software, to enhance teaching and learning, and to support administrative tasks.
  6. Accreditation and Compliance: Maintain proficient accreditation/registration as a teacher, ensuring compliance with the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers (APST) and relevant legislation.
Selection Criteria
  1. Christian Commitment: Demonstrate a genuine commitment to Christianity, actively involved in your local church, and able to model Christian values in the workplace.
  2. Effective Communication: Possess excellent communication skills, written and verbal, to support relationships with students, staff, parents, and the broader community.
  3. Biblical Perspective: Demonstrate the ability to draw upon biblical perspectives to create a learning environment that enhances significant outcomes for students.
  4. Pastoral Care: Show a commitment to creating a nurturing environment for students, providing care and support that fosters their emotional and spiritual well-being.
  5. Professional Development: Be willing to learn, grow, and accept coaching and feedback to pursue excellence in teaching and leadership.
Requirements
  1. Working with Children Card: Hold a valid Working with Children (Ochre) Card.
  2. Police Check: Have a valid NT police check within the last 12 months, or an invoice for one.
  3. Teachers Registration: Hold a current NT Teachers Registration.
  4. Driver's License: Hold a current NT Driver's License.
