
Community Security Specialist

The Queensland Police Service provides security services to state government departments.
Job Requirements- This is an identified position, which requires a First Nations Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person.
- Applicants must be a current resident of Lockhart River or Mornington Island, or have close familial ties to that community.
- Possession of a current First Aid Medical Certificate will be favorably considered.
Protective Services officers conduct observations of Government buildings, operate specialised security equipment, and provide back-up assistance in critical situations.
They also control the entering of personnel and parking of vehicles, detect and report fires, and undertake various activities in accordance with procedural manuals and the Police Powers and Responsibilities Act 2000.
Employees are highly motivated and professional members of the service, providing valuable service to community safety in State Government buildings and precincts.
Key Accountabilities- Conduct observations of interior and exterior of Government buildings and facilities.
- Operate specialised security equipment and exercise powers authorised under the Police Powers and Responsibilities Act 2000.
- Provide back-up assistance to other Protective Services officers in critical incident situations.
- Control entering of personnel and parking of vehicles on Government property.
- Detect and report fires and assist in emergency evacuation of Government buildings.
- Undertake activities and responsibilities in accordance with procedural manuals and the Police Powers and Responsibilities Act 2000.
- Maintain high standard of communications with clients and members of the public.
