About our timber business

We produce a range of timber products for commercial clients while supporting people with disabilities to live an independent life through employment opportunities.

The successful candidate will join our team in Bunbury during a busy period of growth due to ongoing work and new contracts. They will be supported and mentored by the Production Coordinator, focusing on assisting the team in keeping production on track to meet customer demands, while maintaining a strong emphasis on quality and health and safety.

This is a permanent full-time position working Monday to Friday, 7:54am-4:00pm and pays $66,500 per annum (approximately $33.61 per hour). Working for a not-for-profit, you will also have access to salary packaging options which could increase your take-home pay by up to $9,700 per year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning and coordinating production schedules and resource allocation
  • Evaluate potential hazards and implement controls to ensure a safe working environment
  • Oversee preventative maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and assist in managing stock levels of spare parts and consumables
  • Provide workshop supervision and participate in hands-on production activities during high-demand periods
  • Identify and implement improvements, develop training programs, conduct inductions, safety talks, and team briefings, as well as manage on-site contractors
  • Guide and coach team members to enhance their skills and competency

Requirements:

  • A genuine desire to support individuals living with disability in the workplace
  • Previous supervisory experience in a production environment
  • The ability to work alongside the team in operating machinery and participating in hands-on production activities
  • An experienced professional with a focus on ensuring safety in the work environment and identifying risks and hazards
  • Strong planning, time management, and prioritization skills to adapt to changing demands, with the ability to work efficiently and handle overtime when required
  • Experience in the Microsoft Office suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Desirable but not essential:
  • Exposure to LEAN and/or continuous improvement techniques
  • Forklift ticket
