About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to contribute to the policy framework, providing supervision and leadership, and representing the Branch and Department in stakeholder engagements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Policy development and analysis are key aspects of this role, requiring you to undertake research and provide strategic advice to senior stakeholders.
  • You will draft reports and papers for ministerial consideration, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
  • Maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders is crucial, as is providing secretariat support including preparing agendas, meeting papers, and minutes.
  • Analysis of legislation and financial data and reports will be an essential part of your responsibilities.
  • Evaluating policy and program effectiveness is also critical, enabling us to make informed decisions about future initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience within a similar position in the Federal Government is essential, as is excellent communication skills, both written and verbally.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills are required, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and think critically.
  • We are looking for someone who can demonstrate initiative, investigate issues, gather evidence, and work independently.
