Job Title: Child Protection Specialist
">This is a critical role that requires expertise in child protection, assessment, and decision-making. The ideal candidate will have advanced clinical skills to assess and advise on the release of health information.
">The successful applicant will participate in joint assessments and planning for multi-agency responses to child wellbeing and protection concerns. They will also be responsible for advocating for contextualising health information and services in the child protection context.
">This role involves working closely with government and non-government partners to share information effectively and efficiently. The successful candidate will be a strong advocate for coordinated and evidence-based responses to child wellbeing and protection concerns.
">Key responsibilities include navigating care pathways, coordinating effective information exchange within health, and informing appropriate responses to vulnerable children and families.
">The team works together to facilitate recovery, integrated, and trauma-informed care that is holistic and seamless. Targeted training and development are provided to support the team in being innovative, culturally safe, and evidence-based.
">Requirements:
">- A degree in Social Work and eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers and alignment with relevant professional practice standards.
">- Clinical expertise in the area of violence, abuse, and neglect with demonstrated high-level skills in child protection risk assessment and decision-making.
">- Understanding of child protection and privacy principles and practice, and a demonstrated knowledge of the legislative context, relevant Acts, and NSW Health policies in regard to child protection.
">- Sound understanding of the NSW health system, its demands, and good clinical knowledge in a range of health services related to child protection presentations.
">- Advanced skills in building and sustaining collaborative working relationships with internal and external partners.
