About the Role

G8 Education, a leading provider of early education and care services, is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead our finance team and drive our financial strategy.

This is a key leadership role that requires a detail-oriented professional with a proven track record in ASX-listed environments managing financial performance and operations, statutory financial and reporting compliance, managing risk, and providing strategic financial guidance to support the company's growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Strategy Execution: Execute the Finance strategy for G8 Education, demonstrating financial market understanding and providing strategic financial guidance to support the company's growth.
  • Financial Operational Leadership: Lead financial operational activities, including financial accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, treasury, and other key finance matters.
  • Financial Performance Optimization: Optimise financial operational performance and processes, managing risk, and ensuring an appropriate control environment.
  • Financial Reporting: Deliver accurate and timely financial reporting, including compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, to support dealings with investors, lenders, and other stakeholders.
  • Financial Planning: Contribute to the financial planning process to deliver robust forecasts and budgets.
  • Capital Management: Contribute to the capital management strategy for the Group to deliver it in line with the Group's strategy.

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following skills and experience:

  • A degree in finance, accounting, or a related field with CPA or CA equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar role in an ASX-listed environment.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and financial analysis.
  • Proficiency in financial management software and tools.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Hold, or be willing to obtain, a valid working with children check.
