We are seeking a highly skilled journalist to assist with planning and posting on social media, researching and producing high-quality news stories for our weekday bulletins.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assisting the weather presenter in preparing weather forecasts and providing timely updates to the public.
  • Data entry of all information collected during research and production processes.
  • Script writing assistance as requested to support the creation of engaging news content.
  • Liaising with editors and camera operators to ensure the timely and high-quality delivery of news content.
Requirements:
  • University qualification in journalism or a related field.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas in a clear and concise manner.
  • A thorough understanding of compiling ratings-winning bulletins and creating engaging news content that resonates with diverse audiences.
  • Knowledge of local, national, and international news affecting the community, with a strong emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Media law knowledge and understanding, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and operate effectively in a team environment, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and a positive work ethic.
