Job Title: Senior Gateway Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Gateway Engineer to join our team at Quay Appointments.

About the Role

The Senior Gateway Engineer will be responsible for providing expert advice on the management and maintenance of ICT platforms, with a focus on internet gateway and large-scale data centre networking environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage infrastructure requirements to meet future demand.
  • Provide operational support for hardware, software, and other assets.
  • Prioritise and escalate infrastructure issues for timely resolution.
  • Communicate the implications of configuration changes.
  • Analyse request quality for change management.
  • Provide technical advice, including strategic advice to senior executives.
  • Share knowledge and expertise as a subject matter expert.
  • Assist in developing and implementing strategies, operational policy, and procedures.
  • Research emerging technologies and provide recommendations.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
  • A minimum of five years' experience in design, management, and maintenance of internet gateway and/or large-scale data centre networking environments.
  • Technical proficiency in F5, Cisco ACI, Palo Alto Firewalls, Blue Coat Proxy, Infoblox DDI, Email Solutions, VPN Technologies, Routing and Switching Infrastructure, Network Analysis Tools, and Cloud Technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing services utilising F5/Blue Coat Layer 4-7 switching/load balancing and proxy systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and deploying network infrastructure, including Cisco Data Centre technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience with Palo Alto firewalls and IPS Solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing VPN technologies, email, and DNS Solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and integrating hybrid and public cloud services.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining system architecture and design documentation.
  • Demonstrated experience with Australian Government information security policies and the ASD Information Security Manual.
