Position Overview

The role of a Garden Maintenance Officer is crucial in ensuring that our outdoor spaces are well-kept, safe, and visually appealing. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining gardens and green areas through activities such as pruning, mowing, and weeding.
  • Ensuring the cleanliness and safety of outdoor spaces, including window and gutter cleaning (single-storey only).
  • Collaborating with team members on various landscaping projects.
  • Respecting client privacy and preferences while delivering high-quality gardening services.
  • Identifying and reporting any safety or maintenance issues promptly.
  • Engaging with clients to understand their needs and providing exceptional customer service, particularly to elderly or vulnerable individuals.

Qualifications and Skills

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in gardening or landscaping.
  • Preferred qualifications in horticulture, though not mandatory.
  • Possession of a current NSW driver's license and a valid NSW Working with Children Check clearance.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Effective time management and problem-solving abilities.
  • Empathy and understanding towards community members, especially those in vulnerable situations.
  • A collaborative spirit, supporting colleagues in achieving shared goals.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and innovation in the field.
