Position Overview: Network Security Specialist
Key Responsibilities:
Assess and enhance security measures while facilitating the installation of effective network access to strengthen the security framework.
Conduct risk assessments on systems, manage firewalls, update security protocols, and monitor all network operations.
Proactively identify potential security threats and utilize analytical skills to resolve issues, ensuring system integrity at all times.
Oversee and execute all network security protocols while maintaining comprehensive documentation for accountability.
Identify vulnerabilities by performing regular audits of hardware and software components within the network and implement corrective actions.
Required Technical Expertise:
Proficiency with Next Generation Firewalls.
Expertise in Routing and Switching.
Familiarity with Load Balancers, particularly the BIG-IP product suite, including Advanced Firewall Manager (AFM), Access Policy Manager (APM), and Application Security Manager (ASM), with the capability to troubleshoot complex issues.
o In-depth knowledge of load balancing and clustering (LTM/GTM).
A solid understanding of security principles related to network security technologies.
Experience in network forensics or endpoint forensics.
Knowledge of Zscaler (ZIA, ZPA), HSM, and DDoS mitigation solutions.
Familiarity with Endpoint, Web, and Email Security solutions.
Additional Skills:
Evaluate and recommend security protocols and requirements for the organization.
Analyze security vulnerabilities and develop response strategies.
Document and create custom tools while reviewing and assessing security systems to enhance network protection.
Stay informed about industry standards, conventions, and emerging trends.
Engage in various network administration initiatives to support cross-functional activities.
While Network Administrators are not typically programmers or systems engineers, they should possess a foundational understanding of programming and scripting languages, as well as a solid grasp of widely accepted concepts and practices. This knowledge will enable them to identify security vulnerabilities and provide guidance to developers on potential risk areas and measures to enhance security.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree is required, along with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience as a subject matter expert in designing complex networks.
Strong knowledge of various protocols essential for effective communication between diverse devices across the network.
Hands-on experience with dynamic routing protocols.
Practical knowledge in managing Firewalls, IPSec/SSL VPNs, Load Balancers, and Proxy/Web filtering.
Understanding of both Public and Private cloud infrastructures.
Proficient in information technology and analytical skills to address challenges and make organization-wide decisions.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational capabilities.
Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team.
High emotional intelligence and the capacity to perform under pressure.
