About this Role

Xe's Global Risk and Compliance team is seeking a highly motivated and analytical professional to join our Global Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) as a Senior FIU Analyst.

This crucial role plays a vital part in safeguarding the global financial system and Xe group by detecting and analysing unusual activity using financial intelligence systems and procedures to identify potential money laundering, terrorist financing and other financial crimes.

Reporting to the Head of Compliance – Australia, this role will work with a geographically diverse team of FIU specialists and have a focus primarily on our APAC operations.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Execute and support the further development of the post-transaction monitoring, analysis and reporting program.
  2. Perform AML/CTF and fraud investigations to support the timely and thorough preparation of Suspicious Matter Reports (SMRs) for submission to AUSTRAC.
  3. Provide quantitative and qualitative feedback on the transaction monitoring program, conducting post-transactional analysis, special investigations and drafting of SMRs.
  4. Provide high-quality written reporting of investigative analysis, findings and recommendations to key stakeholders.
  5. Produce data visualization dashboards and metrics to illustrate trends and patterns in customer transactions and behaviour.
  6. Continuously identify emerging typologies and risk indicators to inform and optimize the transaction monitoring program.
  7. Ensure timely resolution of partner Requests for Information (RFIs).
  8. Identify and recommend new leads and trends for potential investigations.
  9. Proactively identify and communicate opportunities to improve processes and operational efficiencies.
  10. Adhere to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and consistently achieve results-based targets.
  11. Formalize and report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Economics or Business Administration.
  • Courses, certification, or studies in compliance related matters (CAMS, ICA or similar) is preferred.
  • Minimum +2 years of experience in AML/CTF environment or compliance risk management.
  • Strong analytical, operational, and problem-solving skills are a must.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Enthusiastic and self-motivated, with the ability to follow-through on the task provided.
  • Advanced technical skills in Excel (pivot, macros, advanced formulas), Power BI (DAX, power query) and data analysis tools.
  • High attention to detail, personal organization and ability to work autonomously.
  • Ability to influence, collaborate and build trusted-advisor relationships at all levels.
