About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Geo Environmental Consultant to join our team at Gleeson Recruitment Group. As a Geo Environmental Consultant, you will play a key role in delivering geo-environmental projects for our clients, working closely with our team to provide expert advice and guidance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct desk studies and preliminary risk assessments to identify potential geo-environmental hazards.
  • Lead field-based work across the UK, including site management of ground investigations and associated works, with a strong focus on health and safety management and documentation.
  • Collect and analyze site characterisation data, including soil and groundwater sampling, and logging of soils to appropriate British Standards.
  • Compile site data for factual reports and develop interpretive reports, including conceptual site models and generic risk assessments.
  • Work collaboratively with other sectors and disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall project.
  • Produce project outputs, such as documentation, reports, and specifications, that meet or exceed client expectations and E3Ps requirements.
  • Develop effective working relationships with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication of progress and changes.
Requirements
  • BSc qualified (or higher) in Geology, Environmental Geoscience, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Entry-level experience of working in geo-environmental projects, including contamination or geotechnical projects.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a local office-based team to deliver projects to tight deadlines and budgets.
  • Experience of working on site and supervising contractors, such as drilling teams.
  • Capable of logging soil and bedrock to current standards.
  • Proficient report writer with some knowledge of Environmental Phase 1 & 2 reporting.
  • Awareness of potential risks associated with geo-environmental investigations, including health and safety, budgetary, and technical considerations.
  • Member of a relevant society, such as the Geological Society of London or the Institute of Environmental Sciences.
