Skilled Tradesperson: Fitter & Turner/Boiler Maker

We are seeking an experienced Skilled Tradesperson to join our team as a Fitter & Turner/Boiler Maker.

Job Overview:

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing various tasks that ensure the smooth execution of our construction projects. This includes cutting, grinding and shaping metal and other materials, interpreting diagrams and plans, operating specialized tools and machinery, assembling fabricated parts, following safety protocols, diagnosing and repairing faults with tools and machinery, and monitoring fabrication processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cutting, grinding and shaping metal and other materials using precision equipment.
  • Interpreting diagrams and drawings to determine suitable material and sequence of operations.
  • Operating specialized tools and machinery, including power saws, grinders and drill presses.
  • Assembling fabricated parts to produce products, tools and machines.
  • Following safety protocols to prevent injury to self and others.
  • Diagnosing and repairing faults with tools and machinery.
  • Monitoring fabrication processes and adjusting settings when necessary.

Requirements:

  • A Certificate III in Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • A valid construction induction (white card) and current driver's license.
  • Ability to work independently and problem solve, with strong attention to detail and punctuality.
  • Demonstrate honesty and reliability, with a positive attitude and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Be physically fit and able to perform demanding tasks, including lifting, bending and standing for extended periods.
  • Basic verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
