Job Description

This role plays a pivotal part in shaping and maintaining a robust framework for credit risk model governance.

The team aims to provide ongoing support for model monitoring across the organization.

  • Oversee ongoing monitoring of credit risk models to establish best practice risk management.
  • Maintain open communication with credit risk modellers, product risk managers, data and system teams, project teams, independent model validators, regulatory affairs teams, and group risk governance teams to stay updated on recent developments.
  • Ensure compliance with APRA's Data Management Framework by evaluating and maintaining core modelling data.
  • Organize regular forums and reviews of model monitoring outcomes.
  • Enhance the existing model monitoring framework by implementing new tools such as BitBucket and Tableau.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure efficient and effective data transition from warehouse to production environment.
  • Track risk issues and recommend remedial action for unsatisfactory model performance.
  • Deliver data requests and supporting analysis required for APRA annual IRB validation.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 3+ years of experience in credit risk analytics or management, with a detailed understanding of data management, business, and consumer portfolios.
  • Knowledge of analytics, models, and data to facilitate effective credit risk management.
  • Able to identify new opportunities to enhance existing business processes through statistical models and tools.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Quantitative, Actuarial, Statistics, or relevant degree, or equivalent business experience.
  • Technical orientation towards SAS programming, SQL, R, Excel with VBA, Word, PowerPoint, Bitbucket, and Tableau.
