The UGL Utilities team is responsible for designing and constructing critical infrastructure across the water and power sectors. This includes wastewater treatment plants, power stations, power generation, transmission lines, substations, electrical distribution networks, water and waste water treatment plans, and water pipelines.

The Opportunity

We are currently seeking an experienced Project Controls Engineer to join our team in Perth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Developing and maintaining detailed project schedules using tools like Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project as well as ensuring alignment between the schedule, project scope, and key milestones.

• Monitoring and controlling project budgets, preparing cost forecasts, tracking expenditures, and identifying cost variances.

• Implementing Earned Value Management techniques to track project performance and providing regular updates on project progress and performance metrics to stakeholders.

• Identifying potential risks and developing mitigation strategies, as well as managing and documenting changes in scope, budget, and schedule, ensuring proper approvals are obtained.

• Preparing and delivering accurate and timely project reports, including progress, risks, and financials.

• Facilitating effective communication between project teams, stakeholders, and management.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field; relevant certifications (PMI-SP, AACE CCP) are highly desired.

• Proven proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and Earned Value Management.

• Proven track record in large-scale construction, infrastructure, or utilities projects.

• Strong data analysis, risk assessment, and cost control skills.

• Excellent communication, organisational, and multi-tasking abilities.
