Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled production planning specialist to support our manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Determine material and component requirements based on the master production schedule (MPS) plan.
  • Ensure vendor, inventory & BOM master files are controlled, maintained, and followed in the company's management system.
  • Coordinate among warehouse, purchasing, inventory, suppliers, production and engineering to resolve supply chain issues for production.
  • Develop and implement production tracking and control systems, analyzing production bottlenecks to help detect and resolve production flow problems.
  • Monitor production status and identify delays to adjust schedules accordingly to meet deadlines.
  • Advise management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials, and services are provided as needed.
  • Identify major risks in the production plan based on material supplies and capacity thresholds.
  • Review and adjust Kanban levels according to management reports, ensuring appropriate inventory management practices and cost-effective operations.
  • Create and maintain logistics support programs and identify and resolve supply problems.
  • Liaise and coordinate with other departments to meet production schedules, including supply chain, production, purchasing and sales teams.
  • Support and assist in annual stocktakes.
  • Be a key team member in planning, implementation, and support of new enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Manage work-in-progress, stock levels, and fulfillments to support production volumes.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of electromechanical manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to manage communication with key departments regarding supply plans, demand changes, and supplier constraints impacting targeted plans and inventory goals.
  • Knowledge with management information systems such as SAP or ORACLE.
  • Perform 'what if' scenarios to determine the impact of changes to supply/demand plans.
  • APICS certification and operational excellence understanding.
  • Experience in production planning and optimizing inventory levels and stock availability.
  • Good understanding of inventory management concepts and processes.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
