
Regional Water Development Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Water Planning Officer to join our Regional Development team in Manufacturing and Water.
- The successful candidate will conduct water planning activities within a Region, coordinating input from associated multi-disciplinary teams and delivering output for water planning functions and business objectives.
- Key duties include drafting policy papers and recommendations for the development of water plans, supporting instruments, and other water planning documents in line with Queensland Water Act 2000 requirements.
- Responsibilities also include undertaking technical reviews to inform the development of water management solutions and policy, liaising with technical experts from various disciplines to inform the technical review.
- The ideal candidate will undertake desktop research, data collection, interpretation, and analysis to inform the assessment of a range of water management and policy issues.
- Additionally, the role involves assisting with consultation with internal and external clients, preparing policy papers, briefing notes, and other correspondence as required.
- Contributing to analysis and interpretation of existing National and State Government strategies, policies, and legislation in relation to efficient and sustainable management of Queensland's water resources is also an essential part of the job.
- Finally, the successful candidate will contribute to a positive team culture by supporting team members and sharing information.
This role offers flexible work arrangements and the opportunity to work at DLGWV offices with consideration for alternative locations.
