Role Overview

This role presents a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact in the lives of students with diverse learning needs. The Learning Support Teacher will work closely with the Director of Learning Support and the LEAPS Coordinator to provide targeted educational support.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to grow professionally in a supportive environment, working collaboratively with colleagues to develop individualized education plans and conduct assessments.

As a member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality educational support to students with diverse learning profiles. This will involve working collaboratively with parents, staff, and external professionals to ensure student success.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide individualized educational support for students with diverse learning needs.
  2. Work collaboratively with the Director of Learning Support and the LEAPS Coordinator to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
  3. Conduct assessments and write IEPs for students with diverse learning needs.
  4. Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and external professionals to ensure student success.
  5. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  6. Contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements:
  1. Be a qualified teacher and hold a current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT).
  2. Have a strong understanding of special education needs and experience working with students with diverse learning profiles.
  3. Have high-level communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with parents, staff, and external professionals.
  4. Hold current First Aid qualifications and Anaphylaxis Certificate or be willing to obtain these prior to commencement.
  5. Be able to show a commitment to the values and ethos of Christian education.
  6. Be willing to get involved in all aspects of the College's programs and opportunities.
