The Role
Career Practitioners should ideally have strong communication skills and be able to liaise with and share information easily with students, staff, parents, training providers, employers and industry stakeholders. The successful applicant will ideally develop career education and career learning programs as required, source and provide high quality, unbiased, and current career pathway and labour market information, as well as encourage individual pathway planning across Year 7 to Year 12.
We are looking for a teacher who enjoys working with students to help them imagine and connect with their future career aspirations and create pathway plans that address their individual needs and who will support students to build their workplace capabilities. The Career Practitioner will support and deliver work readiness programs, working closely with students in the Vocational Education and Training (VET) Pathways Program.
We highly value applicants with a high level of knowledge about the diversity of career pathways, with an understanding of school contexts in relation to local employers, community agencies, universities and training providers. Teachers in this specialist role should be competent in the interpretation and analysis of system and school-based data, a specialist teacher who will support the career development of students. Their focus will be to encourage student aspirations and connect them to life opportunities .
