Mater Private Hospital Townsville is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Floor Coordinator to join our Perioperative Services team. As a key member of our senior staff team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the delivery of a safe, efficient, and effective service to patients and Visiting Medical Officers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Staff Allocation and Skill Mix: Ensure appropriate staff allocations and skill mix to reflect the changing workload and meet patient needs.
- Theatre Operations: Coordinate all clinical activity to maximize efficiency and ensure staff meal breaks and reliefs are arranged in a timely manner.
- Clinical Expertise: Act as a clinical expert within the area of work, demonstrating specialist knowledge, skills, and expertise.
- Interdepartmental Liaison: Liaise and cooperate with the wards, other departments, and personnel in the hospital.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other team leaders in the theatre department in the daily running and organization of theatre activity and provide support in all clinical areas as necessary.
- Quality Improvement: Maintain and raise the clinical standard of care through the process of audit, and implement changes in best practice.
- Quality Improvement Ideas: Identify and communicate quality improvement ideas to senior staff to enhance patient care.
Requirements:
- Registration: Registration with Australian Health Practitioner's Regulation Agency with a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse.
- Clinical Experience: Advanced clinical knowledge and experience in a clinical area or specialty applicable to the unit.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years' experience in Perioperative Nursing.
- Communication Skills: Demonstrated advanced ability to communicate complex and challenging information constructively.
