About the Role

The Deputy Chief Executive Officer plays a pivotal role in advancing Multicultural NSW's strategic direction. As a senior executive, you will be instrumental in promoting cultural understanding and equity across government services, ensuring the voices of multicultural communities are heard and acted upon.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to drive organisational goals and promote cultural diversity and inclusion.
  • Lead the development and implementation of initiatives that foster a cohesive and harmonious multicultural society.
  • Maintain robust stakeholder relationships with community organisations, government agencies, and other key stakeholders.
  • Secure funding for critical programs and oversee a significant portfolio, including the Multicultural NSW Grants Program.
  • Ensure strong governance and transparency in all aspects of work.

About You

To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate:

  • Extensive experience in senior executive roles, ideally within the public sector or community organisations focused on cultural diversity and inclusion.
  • Strong understanding of cross-cultural issues and ability to engage effectively with diverse communities.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives that drive organisational goals.
  • Expertise in stakeholder engagement, with a track record of building and sustaining positive relationships with community organisations, government agencies, and other key stakeholders.
  • High-level communication and negotiation skills, capable of influencing senior leaders and representing the agency at public forums and media engagements.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams towards achieving excellence in service delivery.
  • A commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of work.
