About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled HFC Field Engineer to join our team in Sydney. As a key member of our Field Operations Team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct equipment and system level Service Assurance activities in the field to ensure optimal network performance.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives for Active network construction activities and investigate early-onset faults to minimize downtime.
  • Provide on-site technical support for complex network issues and resolve technical escalations from Customer Field Technicians.
  • Perform end-user installation and assurance activities to ensure seamless customer experience.
  • Support changes or upgrades to network elements to maintain network integrity.
  • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of HFC outside plant construction, Network Remediation, and Network Assurance principles.
  • Stay up-to-date with HFC testing principles, DOCSIS 3.1, and RF fundamentals to ensure network compliance.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and restoration activities, including amplifier alignment and egress repairs, to maintain network uptime.
  • Work within Service Level Agreements (SLA), Operational Level Agreements (OLA), and Change Request Quotas (CRQ) to meet business objectives.
  • Apply basic HFC design principles and have a background in basic fibre optics to ensure network quality.
  • Ensure network quality from CMTS to CM and identify and manage injury risks and environmental impacts using the nbn HSE management system.
  • Perform tasks in accordance with safe work practices and maintain required Safety training currency and accreditations.
  • Cross-skill across other technologies to support future network expansion and evolution.
About You

We are looking for a technical professional with strong network assurance experience in one or more nbn technologies, such as HFC ISP, Ethernet, DWDM, GPON, or VDSL. Outside plant build experience across Fibre, HFC, or Copper network builds is highly beneficial.

You will be a natural problem solver with a methodological approach and have an aptitude to learn quickly. Your ability to be flexible, adaptable, and cope with conflicting priorities will be essential in this role.
