Job Title: Senior Planning Engineer

This is a senior role for a planning engineer to lead and manage the mine planning team. The successful candidate will have experience in large-scale underground mining operations and be able to develop and implement plans to achieve business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the mine planning team to ensure optimal mine development.
  • Develop and implement medium- and long-term plans to drive business growth.
  • Produce quarterly forecasts, half-year reforecasts, spatial compliance reports, and annual budget preparation to inform business decisions.
  • Design and prepare level extraction plans and economic evaluations to optimize resource utilization.
  • Prepare ore reserve statements in accordance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with production, geotechnical, and geology teams to ensure seamless integration of priorities into short-term plans.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to optimize mining processes and improve efficiency.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A competent user of Deswik packages (Scheduler, CAD, SO).
  • Practical experience on large-scale underground mining operations with a proven track record of success.
  • Previous experience with financial modeling and costing to inform business decisions.
  • Able to influence, communicate risks, and deliver compelling presentations to stakeholders.
