Job Role

The Consultant - Physician - Gen Med leads a multidisciplinary team in providing specialist medical services to patients.

They promote patient safety and quality of care, and provide leadership, orientation, training, supervision, and education for doctors in training and other health workers.

In collaboration with the General Medicine Lead and other Consultants, they work to achieve national, state, and EMHS performance standards and targets.

They operate within the scope of clinical practice as defined and recommended by the EMHS Area Medical Credentialing Committee.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a multidisciplinary team in providing specialist medical services.
  • Promote patient safety and quality of care.
  • Provide leadership, orientation, training, supervision, and education for doctors in training and other health workers.
  • Work collaboratively with the General Medicine Lead and other Consultants to achieve performance standards and targets.
  • Operate within the scope of clinical practice as defined and recommended by the EMHS Area Medical Credentialing Committee.

Requirements:

  • Australian citizenship or permanent residency.
  • Eligibility to live and work in Australia for the period of the contract.
  • Documentary evidence of entitlement to live and work in Australia.

This is an open-ended recruitment pool. Appointments may be made from this pool until 31/01/2027.
