Forensic Medical Specialist

We are seeking an accomplished forensic medical professional to provide high-quality community-based forensic medical services using evidence-based practice, including medicolegal examinations for women and men who have experienced sexual assault.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Document and report findings for use within the legal system.
  • Provide expert evidence regarding sexual assault issues and injury causation for the courts.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Hold a Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent qualification.
  • Be registrable with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Medical Practitioner with General Registration.
  • Have experience in acute medical assessment in either an Emergency Department or other acute medical setting.
  • Have knowledge of contemporary practice, issues, and research in relation to sexual assault medicine and interpersonal violence.
