Our team is seeking a Casual Medical Officer Practitioner/Consultant to provide high-quality community-based forensic medical services.

This role involves medicolegal examinations for women and men who have experienced sexual assault, documenting and reporting cases for use within the legal system, and providing expert evidence regarding sexual assault issues and injury causation for the courts.

About the Role
  • Provide medicolegal examinations for women and men who have experienced sexual assault

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Carrying out medicolegal examinations in accordance with best practice guidelines
  • Maintaining accurate records of all examinations, including documentation and reporting
  • Providing expert evidence in court proceedings
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent qualification
  • Registrable with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Medical Practitioner with General Registration
  • Experience in acute medical assessment, women's health, and knowledge of contemporary practice, issues, and research in relation to sexual assault medicine
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
