About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Dementia Behaviour Support Specialist to join our team at DSA. In this role, you will be responsible for providing expert support and guidance to families, caregivers, and clinical staff to understand how dementia impacts each individual.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support families and caregivers to develop strategies to prevent and respond to behaviour changes related to dementia.
  • Develop and implement behaviour support plans that are tailored to individual needs and circumstances.
  • Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care and support to people living with dementia.
  • Conduct assessments and develop reports that provide recommendations for behaviour support and care planning.
  • Participate in research and quality improvement initiatives to enhance the delivery of dementia behaviour support services.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of education and training programs for healthcare professionals and caregivers.

Requirements

  • Relevant qualifications in Allied Health, Nursing, Aged Care or Mental Health.
  • Experience working with people living with dementia and their families.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
