This role requires a strategic leader to oversee the Communications Engineering Section within a large transport infrastructure project.

About You

We are seeking an experienced commercial professional with strong communication and influencing skills, who possesses a relevant engineering degree and in-depth knowledge of modern communication systems, data networks, public information and control systems.

  • Relevant engineering degree and comprehensive understanding of modern communication systems, data networks, public information and control systems.
  • Well-developed leadership skills and experience of managing a department or team.
  • Proven background in complex projects within a rail or major transport environment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to work effectively in a team environment, possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to build and develop high-performing teams.

About the Role

This key leadership position sits within a transport infrastructure delivery division and provides direction and advice on communications strategy and infrastructure management.

  • Develop and implement effective communications strategies across the organization.
  • Manage and maintain existing communications infrastructure, including planning, design, development, and implementation.
  • Collaborate with external service providers and industry bodies to achieve organizational goals.
  • Represent the organization in negotiations, participate in emergency committees, and ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.
  • Build and lead a high-performing team from scratch, providing direction and guidance at all levels.
  • Oversee allocated contracts and consultancies for communications systems, infrastructure, and facilities.
