Complex Engineering Solutions Lead

We are seeking a Senior or Associate Mechanical Engineer to join our national water team in Adelaide. As a key member of our team, you will lead the delivery of large-scale engineering solutions across water and wastewater infrastructure projects.

You will bring deep expertise in mechanical design and commissioning, equipment selection and specification, process optimisation, construction support, and risk management aligned with WHS standards.

Ideally, you have led teams through all project phases from planning and concept design to procurement, construction, commissioning, and operational handover.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership and oversight of mechanical design and installation
  • Collaborate on bids and tenders, reviewing documentation and refining cost estimates
  • Work with procurement teams to define scopes and coordinate vendor engagement
  • Build strong client relationships and act as a key technical liaison
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Drive innovation and ensure successful project outcomes

Requirements:

  • Chartered Professional Engineer with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (or related discipline)
  • Proven leadership in mechanical design for water/wastewater treatment projects
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Familiarity with digital engineering platforms (e.g. BIM/Revit)
  • Ability to deliver under pressure and manage competing priorities
  • Excellent technical writing and organisational skills
  • A passion for mentoring and team development
