Job Summary:

The Mechanical Technician role is a critical position within our organization.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team as a Mechanical Technician. In this role, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of heavy diesel products, including engines, fuel systems, and other related components.

As a Mechanical Technician, you will utilize your technical expertise to diagnose and repair complex issues, ensuring that our equipment operates safely and efficiently.

Additionally, you will assist with completion of required documentation, such as work completed documentation, time sheets, warranty claims, and quality forms, via handwritten forms or business system input screens.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete repairs and maintenance of heavy diesel products.
  • Diagnose and repair engines, including disassembling, inspecting, and cleaning engines and/or engine components.
  • Engine rebuilding and reconditioning, as well as maintaining a clean and organized work area and tools.
  • Assist with completion of required documentation.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Cert III) or equivalent is required.
  • Basic level of workshop or field service experience is necessary.
  • A basic level of knowledge of and/or experience with engine products is preferred.
  • Heavy Vehicle Experience is highly recommended.
  • HR License is desirable.

Technical Skills Required:

  • Health and Safety Fundamentals: Champions and models proactive health and safety behaviors by identifying, reporting, and participating in actions to improve health and safety in order to build an interdependent culture and contribute to an injury-free workplace.
  • Diagnostics Application: Translates customer complaints to develop a troubleshooting plan; troubleshoots issue following guided work flows, procedures, specialized equipment, and diagnoses computer software to isolate failed components to enable a successful repair.
  • Electronic Service Tool Application: Identifies the suite of available hardware and software tools required for a service event; utilizes the appropriate electronic tool set to maintain the product or diagnose and troubleshoot an issue.
  • Engine Systems Interactions: Interprets and analyzes the interactions of internal and external electrical and mechanical systems (exhaust, heating, cooling, fuel systems, driveline, aftertreatment, controls, sensors, etc.) by applying tools, service publications, and taking measurements to efficiently and correctly diagnose and repair.
  • Product Repair and Maintenance: Repairs and maintains mechanical/electrical products following guidelines, using required tools within standard repair time to ensure a quality repair.
  • Service Documentation: Creates and verifies customer, equipment, and technical information; captures specific data using required service tools; follows procedures and documents required information in the service management system in order to have an accurate record of the work done.
