The role of Health and Safety Specialist is to ensure awareness and adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards. They are responsible for developing and implementing operational HSE plans aimed at improving compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies.
Key Responsibilities:- Policy Development: Develops and drafts health, safety, and environmental programs, policies, procedures, and standards to ensure continuous improvement in HSE performance across all business processes.
- Planning and Implementation: Formulates annual HSE plans, objectives, and goals; manages their execution after approval. Drives the development of safe work practices and procedures.
- Risk Management: Implements emergency and occupational safety measures, conducts risk assessments, inspections, audits, and investigations, and initiates corrective actions to ensure compliance and address deviations.
- Training and Advice: Ensures all relevant HSE training programs are in place and conducted. Provides insights and advice on HSE developments through reports and analyses to facilitate informed management decisions.
- Project Involvement: Participates in projects to incorporate health, safety, and environmental standards throughout project phases and designs.
- HSE Tools and Systems: Manages local HSE systems, analyzes KPIs and indicators, and reports on HSE performance and progress.
- Incident Management: Oversees incident activities, leads investigations of serious incidents, and manages crises and incidents effectively.
