Feed Operations Manager

At a leading feed mill operation, we are seeking an experienced Feed Operations Manager to drive commodity procurement and supplier relationships forward. In this key role, you will be responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies that significantly contribute to the company's ongoing success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with senior management to design and implement commodity procurement plans.
  • Drive procurement decisions and foster strong partnerships with suppliers.
  • Work closely with the in-house nutritionist to provide economic rations that maximise livestock performance.
  • Manage the supply chain of raw ingredients to meet commodity requirements.
  • Analyse market trends and develop effective risk management strategies.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Rural Science or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a feed milling operation.
  • Prior experience in commodity purchasing is essential.
  • Knowledge of animal nutrition and/or livestock markets is highly valued.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in negotiation.
  • Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail.

Location flexibility is available, with opportunities in Newcastle or Western Sydney NSW.
