Lead Innovation in Engineering Design

As a Design Innovation Leader, you will drive innovation in a forward-thinking organisation by leading the engineering design function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor and develop a team of Engineers, Draftsmen and Manufacturing Specialists.
  • Oversee the design, development and delivery of high-quality engineering projects.
  • Ensure all engineering activities meet relevant standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across design and manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Production, Sales and Quality teams to align design outcomes with business goals.
  • Manage resources, workflows and project priorities to achieve delivery targets.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Structural Engineering.
  • Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) and Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ).
  • 10-15 years proven engineering application experience, ideally in steel fabrication or heavy industrial sectors.
  • Advanced CAD skills - Solid Edge experience highly regarded.
  • Minimum 5 years demonstrated leadership and team management experience.
