Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Senior Construction Project Lead to oversee the delivery of facility and security upgrades to Equipment Issue Offices across multiple police stations. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing construction projects and ensuring timely and budget-friendly outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the delivery of construction projects using a project management methodology.
  • Ensure the delivery of the project is integrated within a broader major projects program and organizational priorities.
  • Manage the procurement of project consultants and contractors.
  • Lead and manage project resources, including Victoria Police employees, contractors, and consultants.
  • Manage project outcomes to ensure projects are progressing on time and within budget.
  • Effectively manage the project budget to ensure value for money.
  • Identify and manage project risks.
  • Oversee project governance and reporting.
  • Engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders to deliver quality outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in delivering capital works or major projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes and contract administration.
  • A detailed understanding of design development associated with construction projects.
  • Strong commercial acumen.
  • Demonstrated stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Relevant qualifications and/or professional accreditations in construction and/or project management.
  • A current driver's license is required for site visits.
  • A strong commitment to Operational Infrastructure Department's strategy goals.
