About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Media Production Technical Officer to join our Technical Services – Film and Media team at Swinburne University of Technology. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical support for teaching in higher education, as well as supporting university staff and students with digital media equipment and facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical advice and support to university staff and students on digital media equipment and facilities.
  • Support the maintenance and upkeep of digital media equipment and facilities, including loan and booking systems and asset tracking.
  • Assist with the production of video, audio, and still materials as required.
  • Stay current with new and emerging technologies within media production and provide recommendations for their implementation.
  • Provide excellent customer service and support to university staff and students.

Requirements:

  • Associate diploma level qualification with relevant work-related experience, or a certificate level qualification with post-certificate relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Technical ability and experience with digital media production equipment, including video, film, photography, audio, and lighting gear.
  • Knowledge of industry workflows around media post-production.
  • Experience with professional post-production hardware and software, including software from Adobe, Apple, Blackmagic, and AVID.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with a focus on loan and booking systems and asset tracking.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines, with strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong IT knowledge, with experience in both Windows and Mac environments, different file systems, codecs, and networking.
